    nugget shooting with Explorer ES

    Hello,
Is there any settings that I can program into the Explorer to use it or am I just swinging in the wind?
    Thanks, Troyoz-OH

Get a small piece of lead to use as a test target. A piece that challenges your detectors limits fairly well, maybe a 1/3 Gram not big a 1/4 oz chunk. Glue the piece of lead to a poker chip with some epoxie. Setup the Explorer by burying the test target ground your hunting. A little bit of testing will find the best settings and coil speed. The most distinct sound from the test target is the best setting, it's not always the loudest sound. Headphones are a must BTW. Thats the way I've done it for years and it works very well...

I also have the Explorer XS and am an going to try it next weekend in North East Georgia.
I have heard it is not good at all for nugget hunting. Check out the MSN Explorer forum some one named Mike Monterey detector settings should help you out a lot. By the way where are you located I am in top north central Alabama.

NOTE: If you Email me I can sendyou a copy of the Explorer settings.
