    how a detector reads?

Say you have a bunch of small pieces of gold and you run your detector over them. Does it read them as 1 large piece or does it still see them as seperate? I have alot of small gold and my detector won't pick them up. If they were all one it would seem my detector would pick it up regardless of what brand it is.
    Just wondering

Hi there Eureka, It will only signal on what ever the smallest piece is that will trigger a signal for the detector you are using. It doesnt "look" at all the small pieces as one. Depending on the size of the gold & the detector you are using it wont pick up a whole bunch of fines, even if it was an oz of fines.
