two ores

:?: my son in law took his family to silverwood in idaho to the water park there - feeling sorry for me, thati had missed all the fun, hebought a bag of ore for me to pan out from one of the stores near the park. i panned it out - i got a number of garnets (real small - no cash value) and not one flake of placer gold. there was some flakes of gold in a couple of the larger (about quarter sized) rocks. the gravel was obviously from a hard rock mine. as he has invited my wife and myself to his place for a barbeque tonight, ithink that i will forgo telling him the difference between placer ore and hard rock ore until after supper. wayne
