    gold in Tennessee?

    Hello, everyone.

I'm taking a family trip over the Fourth of July to Gatlinburg, TN and a client of mine mentioned once that he used to look for gold with a detector in several areas up there. He didn't specify where, and I can't find him now, but would be interested in poking around if there's any legitimacy to it. (otherwise I won't bring the detector on the plane!) Any input from anyone would be greatly appreciated.

    thanks in advance

There has been a small amount of gold that has been found in Blount county (Maryville area). But nothing has been found in the Gatlinburg area unless you count tourist dollars.
