Post The Dig Tool You Use

I sure am lovin this forum guys. I bought a pic axe notknowing what to get. I wish for to discover what tools you all use while metal detecting for gold.

Oh and tell me if you use a magnet on it and if so what kind you use.

please post photos if you can or links to a store that shows the tool.

    THANKS!

full size apex pick, stock 3 super mags,is hd.would like a hodan pick with the concave scoop edges, probably easier to clean out those deeper dig holes.but, made in idaho and goes through solid rock when necessary.has stood up to 3 abusive years as my main digger.pulse induction digger.

Hi guys, Here is my weapon for exposing those gold nuggets from the grips of mother nature.

I drilled a hole in the end of the handle & glued in a rear earth magnet for picking up any ferreous metal.

Carves into solid schist no problems at all.

    Happy hunting

    Interesting looking scratcher.

    Here's the pick I use, the ESTWING® Geo Paleo Pick™ Hoe-Pick:

It's about 26" long and is really light and easy on your arms. Don't let that fool you; I've gone through 5" of cold asphalt with this thing in about a minute.

I've sold my full size pick long ago as ineffective compared to this tool.

Warning: DO NOT borrow it out; you won't get it back.

Re: Post The Dig Tool You Use

I use just a large full size pick from lowes. A hoe on 1 side and a sharp point on another, just a regular full size pick. $20. As far as magnets, I had some old car audio speakers and use the 4in. round magnet from that. It's pretty strong. My tool works great, especially on a budget. I try to post pics of it later.
    Good luck and HH.
