Does anyone have a Fisher Gold Strike machine?

I have heard that the Gold Strike was ahead of it's time in technology. Some folks I have talked to don't understand why Fisher would discontinue such a great machine. Anyone that has one or had one how about filling in the blanks for me. If it's as good as some folks say I might see if I can find one.

NOT ahead of it's time--go new GB pro or GB2 or Tesoro LST-it was dumped from the line for good reason-John

Hoser John; Thank You for the reply. I suspect you know something that a lot of other people don't. I posted the same question in the metal detecting section under brands (Fisher) and I got a very informative reply, from one of Fishers engineers. Good read. Thanks again.
