    how about a DFX

Has any one used a DFX for gold pickers? if yes how do you set it up. I Melted about 2 penny weight of small panned flakes into a lump and can not pick it up in the coin program. Any Help I am in southern Idaho panned a bit years ago and just got into metal detecting.

2 penny weight is a pretty big chunk of gold (that should be just over a three gram piece). You should be able to get a coin machine to see that amount of gold. Try a DFX forum (google it) and see if you can get some help that way. I would think that with a smaller, sensitive coil, you should be able to air test a piece that big, no problem. (I'm sorry that I can't help you more than that--I've never used the DFX--but if it's working right, it should see gold that big.)

    All the best,

Used block edit and accept from +93 down to -20 then in frequency switch to 15 KHZ only and the DFX will scream, well beep real nicely, on most any gold.
