    white wood 4" x 4" x at least 3' high.metal post no less than 2" same color and height(must have top cap as enviros claim critters croak. Pile a rocks at least 3' high with jat and paperwork. Documentation is required and posta marked as to laocation(discovery,corner,oe witness) . Posted signs with CAMC and other pertinent info also when taken by legal subdivision.Go to your local BLM office for a free mini manual on all pertaining rules.Can only post 10% of whatzup-I'm not young enough to do it,educate and prosper,don't and OH BOY!!!Tons a au 2 u 2-John

    Different areas are different. As John said, a wooden sign is usually sufficient in most areas, but in desert settings, a pile of rocks is appropriate as well.

    Here, I put up a nifty picture. This is the most common Arizona type, this and the yellow metal "Federal Mining Claim" signs..

    I've used a glass =jar, I had a claim outside of Tucson and all they required was a pile of rocks at least 2 ft tall with the jar inside
    I know rocks and jewels
