Trashy Beaches: Need Advice on New MD

I have the worst detector, but that's fine since I mostly look for surface finds. I'm considering hitting some beaches in the future, though. Places I've gone on vacation. The problem is that it's not so much a really trashy beach, as it is a really sandy trash heap.

Yeah, that bad. Yet, I know there's tons of recent coinage and jewelry mixed in. I've read a bunch of threads on pros and cons of different detectors. It's still a jumble to me. I'd love to have more thoughts from those who hunt on really trashy beaches.

Thanks in advance. I know these threads must bore the pros.

What you are looking for is called a notch detector such as a golden sbre from tesoro. You'll be in trash central so you can then notch out pop tops as the worst trash to contend with. You can then still get gold/silver as with a regular vlf/pulse/tr there is no way. I've made a fortune with the notch at the beach as also has accept only and when a rich fella loses him $700 lambo keys you make good coin with accept only and ez to find then. Only go to rich folks exclusive beaches as common public just a few coins and junk jewelry but rich folks ego mandate them to wear expensive stuff to the beach to show off--it falls off--and you end up with it...cool to me...tons a au 2 u2 -John

    Thanks Hoser!

I'm toying with the idea of the E-trac or the XP Deus. Money isn't too much of a concern for me right now.

The most discerning point is how well it will do on the beach. When I take it to the desert, there's so little trash I can't waste time digging at every signal. Not an issue. The beaches are a WRECK, though. I could be digging every 4 inches.

I'm still hoping for some insights ... mostly getting echos.

For the beach you should look at the Excaliber II, it's not an ID type machine but it does well in wet salty sand.

My tesoro stingray works well at total discrimination or all metal and is waterproof, I know about trashy beaches, tell them to put back on their bathing suits.
