Any one use a DEWALT shop vac for pickers ?

I see Dewalt has a nice battery shop vac that some use for crevicing ? seems one would work great to suck the pickers up after hitting on them with a MD .

I bought this one last year for dry crevicing and it works great. You can unhitch the hose from the top and use standard 1.25" attachments from a home store. It has a Goretex filter so you can use it for wet or dry. The only complaint that Amazon customerrs had was how loud it was, though I found it's not bad, but it helps to wear hearing protection. Some people might like the 2 1/2 gallon one over this because the small one gets full fast, and the bigger one comes with attachments. If you get it on Amazon(join Amazon prime for the free month so you can get free 2 day shipping on this) you can buy it with the battery and charger or just the tool if you already have the 18v batteries. If you need batteries get the XRP 18v, they last much longer, and I've never run one out yet.

I'm sorry it's so expensive Nuggy, but in the long run I think it's a lot less hassle than a gas powered crack vac type deal. If you go out for an extended period, you can rig a solar panel to power the battery charger.

All that crap with dredging in California is based on the Indians and the tree huggers saying that the salmon and other fish are being harmed miners dredging in the rivers and streams. If it's not in the water, your ok.

I use one like H-2 Charlie has posted- the 2.5 gal version.
Works good for crevicing and working any spot in shallow water- to about a foot deep.
Battery time- even with the high $ batts is not too good- maybe 20 minutes tops with sparing use.
In the water it will fill up pretty quick, but you can pop one side and dump water off- then repeat 5-6 times. I usually shake and swirl to get heavies down in it and dump off a little of th top light stuff each time too- Then dump the "concentrate" in a bucket once it gets about 1/4- 1/2 full. More than that- the material will get in the way of the float ball and guard (sticks way down into the bottom half) and it gets frustrating to get the two parts back together --and- the small area fills with water very fast and float the ball and cuts off suction.
For a rechargeable- close to a power source- it's good. For getting out in the boondocks and working for some dust- there are better options...

Are you telling me that with the little dewalt vacuum and 1 xrp you can run it all day? I can only run my bigger 18v for 20 mins before it wines to a halt . What's the suction like on that thing? I may need that one for cracking. Thxs
