I posted this in the Today's Finds and was asked to share it over here too!! I thought it might be a good fit here as well!! :hello2:

Even though I do detect for gold, on this day, I was using the CTX and relic hunting a gold camp. But I know that the readers on this forum will probably appreciate this find more so than a turf hunter or relic hunter. I have found gold with my GPX5000 but score my biggest with a CTX!! Go Figure!

What a surprise this was!!

I got the dig on video if anyone is interested in watching it. I get a bit excited and have a few slips of the tongue!! :dontknow:

Banner worthy find :icon_thumleft:
(nomination sent)

FYI I noticed that your scale is set to: oz.
Gold is bought and sold using ozt which is the troy weight
So the weight of your nugget in ozt. would actually be referred to as 1.2760t oz or 25.52 dwt (pennyweight) by the prospecting community.
Either way It's still a 1oz + nugget!

GG~

Congrats on the Banner and that is one sweet nugget. :hello2: Looks like a fun place to hunt, especially with the brush burned off. Love the 1861 seated dime too, nice detail on it. :icon_thumleft: Cool relics, too. Pretty nice for a "back pocket" site. Keep digging!
