Has anyone ever been detecting in northern nevada around the olinghouse area?

I've been wanting to go with my gb2 after seeing some of the gold specimens from that area but I was wondering if my gb2 would be suitable for that area?

Yes, but no luck. I didn't have much time and was in the valley at some old tailings piles. I was swinging a GMT.
I would like to try there again, maybe up in the canyons.

Here is a close-up pic of a specimen from Olinghouse. Some very neat crystalline gold comes out of that area. I imagine quite a few detectors would have a tough time "seeing" a piece like this due to the spongyness of the gold.
