Has anyone ever been detecting in northern nevada around the olinghouse area?

Yes, but no luck. I didn't have much time and was in the valley at some old tailings piles. I was swinging a GMT.
I would like to try there again, maybe up in the canyons.

Here is a close-up pic of a specimen from Olinghouse. Some very neat crystalline gold comes out of that area. I imagine quite a few detectors would have a tough time "seeing" a piece like this due to the spongyness of the gold.
