Sounds creepy, but detecting in the ocean, I have found molars with fillings, fillings and dental bridges in the water. I suspect some of the dental stuff was old and maybe from people that were cremated and spread over the beach they liked. Nowadays, I suspect the crematorium removes this stuff but maybe in the past they did not. This is one kind of target that I release back into the wild.

Another possibility is you have melted beer can. I have found quite a bit where there are bond fire parties. People toss the empties into the flames and it turns into a "nugget".

It couldnt be a beer can or silver due to how it rang up on the e trac, hit a 12-04 which is exactly where you would expect a small piece of gold to hit. could it be a lower karat than 10?
