Has anyone heard or know about this? Was talking to a poker friend who has a claim on the middle fork American, he told me that there are claims closed because of gold bullion. I didn't really understand what he was talking about as he said you also couldn't use anything over 3" dredge. Maybe someone knows him on here. I don't want to post his name, but if you pm me I'll fill you in.

That's not one of the reasons I've ever heard for an area to be closed?

Perhaps your friend is thinking about regulations regarding searching for treasure, artifacts or other things that may be considered antiquities. I know the government is picky about metal detecting for that kind of stuff, maybe dredging is affected as well
