Tone change ability in MD's?

hello all, I have been looking and reading product specs etc and I can't seem to find the answer.

Do any of the mid to high end units have the ability to change the audible tones that the machine puts out for the end user?

My hearing is not the best any more and some tones (lower) are better heard than high pitched tones. So to have the ability to change the tonal output of the machine seems great.

No matter what the tone is, as long as you learn the nuances of sounds as related to the target, it should not matter.

Another one of "thinking out loud" moments.
Sometimes those get me in trouble :laughing7:

There is a pitch adjustment on the Minelab GPX4800 or 5000 to help somebody to hear targets better in a particular range of Audio Tone. I have not played with it, but it might be worthwhile checking out. If you find a good answer, I bet there are others who would be interested. It is not an uncommon problem, especially due to a lifetime of loud noises (music, machines, firearms, etc).

My older dog has the same issue - that she can usually hear (or chooses to hear) my (lower) voice, but not my wife's. For her, I suspect it was too much bird hunting.

The CTX has this ability. You can set almost any tone to each block of target ID. It is very adaptable to adjust tone freq to match your hearing range.

F75 has a threshold setting just for that reason.

Thank you all for your input.
Glad to hear (HA!) that the manufactures have thought of that already (the few you guys mention at least). Sounds like it might be the higher end models with that ability more so than the starter models?

Got the green light for a Gold Bug Pro from Momma.
We'll see what see can do.

Thanks again.
