Hey, everyone-- I've been on the lookout for an older Tesoro that would be good for gold prospecting. finding nuggets and flakes. I know about the lobo supertraq, but I'm looking for something a little less pricey. diablo? lobo? golden sabre, silver sabre? any advice/personal experience appreciated. thanks.

Until a member(s) pipe in - don't forget to browse Metal Detecting > Brands > Tesoro.

I just picked up a original lobo in great condition $200.
They are a gold detector mainly but will work for other types of md also.

I've been told that the Compadre-a relic machine-does a more than decent job on nugget shooting. Seen on other forums for quite a few years now BUT I like my 2 tesoros so much for many years,TLST/GS, that never tried a comparison test.....yet...John

Thanks for the advice, guys! I found a Tesoro Inca on ebay so we'll see how that does. I like supporting Tesoro since they are local (AZ)!

My first gold detector was a used Lobo. I was not impressed and sold it quickly. Just one guy's opinion.

For 2 years Tesoro used my Lobo review as it was a decent gold getter but TOUGH to run. The redo into Lobo Super Traq did the trick on many fronts. No complaints in over 13 years. El Dorado is a very nice old school Tesoro. I owned the original but when redone into a micro it lost some ,same as the Golden Sabre performance. When in biz in the 80-90s I sold many 1,000s of their fine products and no problems ever due to high quality production requirements back in the day.-John

My first gold (ring) was found with my Cibola.
I believe if a person knows their machine well enough, they (should)
find gold. You gotta love that sound, when it "sees" that metal...!
