Using the DFX as a nugget shooter

Hi i finally got a decent detector. I decided on the DFX
I was wondering if anyone who has one has used it as a nugget shooter and which programs or settings they use for gold. I also have the 8x14" DD 1400 coil with it and was wondering if that would help for gold?
I am in Alaska and northern B.C. right now and am looking forward to any responses. Thanks

The DFX isn't great for nugget hunting. Get an MXT to go with it and you are set with a better gold finder, plus they both use the same coils.

yeah unfortunatley i cant afford another MD right now, i am still kicking myself for buying that DFX
Maybe i should sell it... i wonder how much i can get for it? ive only used it for 5 hours...i dunno i might hold off on selling it though because i am going to Thailand in about 6 weeks and then to Hawaii in March
No one would happen to know what the detecting laws are in Hawaii, i am intimatley familiar with lots of the beaches there and i have some good ideas of where to hunt
