I broke down and bought a sdc 2300 , found this sitting in a little dried up pool on bedrock! Now I have faith in the machine and will be hitting the area up hard, lots of exposed bedrock ! If anyone is in Montana and wants to hunt, send me a message.

Congrats!

I've heard nothing but good things about this machine. I've even seen one guy who sold his GPX 5000 and got the SDC 2300 and swears by it.

My buddy just bought the Gold Bug 2 and will take it on its maiden voyage this weekend.

Me, I'm on the fence right now. Trying to decide between the 2300 or the GB2.

Decisions, decisions.

Anyway, enough of me rambling. Hope your machine pays for itself in no time. Rock on!

I have both machines, the gb 2 will find the gold too, but I will say this 2300 is pretty amazing as far as turning it on and just detecting. It runs super smooth and so far I am loving it . Very easy to use. Plus it folds down and fits in my backpack so I can take it on the atv real easy !

sdc is the best of the best. it is always ground balanced. if emi gets to be more than you can bare, setting 1 will still perform very well. i keep mine between 1-3. high as i can go without too much emi. it will pick up sub grain gold with a clear signal.

Way to go! MT was really good to me and my SDC. Here is a pic from a day and a half hunt in one gulch. The gold flake my buddy dredged lol. Keep it up. And yes i witnessed my SDC pick up 6 pickers and one 2.3g nugget that was spongy in AZ. The GPX went over the area and i followed behind. He miseed all, then we put the vial down and it still didn't detect it. I'd love to have a GPZ but I think the SDC is just as good with just a little less depth because of just a small coil. i have noticed that it can detect about a grain per inch to about 6 inches. i have detected a number of 5 -5.5 grain pieces at 6 +/- inches. deepest target was a copper coat button 1/2" round at 12"
