Leaving Kerrville,Texas going to Bakersfield,Califorina along IH 10
Ive got a remodel job to do for my brotherinlaw there, plan on taking my time and hunting along the way and back,I'll be there for 4-5 weeks.
Any locations or ideas would be appreciated.

Kern River is very close, gold usually small but plentiful. This time a year the hills are COLD,dress warm and be prepared to hightail quick.Up there storms blow in fast and hard.Tons a au 2 u 2-John

Bill Chapman who owns the Gold-N-Detector shop in Golden, CO told me that without exception that if the words NATIONAL and PARK are together, you cannot metal detect. Anywhere in the US. If it's something like NATIONAL FOREST or any other kind of park you just need to ask because they're all different. Treasures are waiting for you!

Dont forget to devote some time to Arizona..southern arizona is as good as the northern parts so Ive been told...good luck and dont forget the pics when you get tha goldddddddd !!!!!

Lordsburg, and Deming NM. Rockhound State park is appox. 7 mi. south of I 10 at Deming.
Gold isn't always in the bottom of your pan

You will shortly find that going to or moving to Bakersfield is a local joke.
My last HS Reunion they gave away a 1 night stay at the Bakersfield Hilton Inn as the 1st place door prize...
