I have one like that. I still carry it in my pocket some days depending on what I'm doing. Your's is 2.17ozt and is a bit bigger with a lot more visible quartz. That's a gold covering quartz specimen nugget. The specific gravity test should work fine on that nugget because you can see that it's mostly only quartz underneath that you can see. Because it's a specimen nugget, you don't need to do the test because you will get paid for the total weight either way. Is it worth more then a solid 2ozt nugget? Yes, because it's twice the size and then some because it's surrounding the quartz. This is the perfect size for pocket carrying, which is why I carry this specific type of nugget with me also, it's solid and can't be damaged much and it's big enough that you won't lose it. A comfortable size. It's worth at least double the spot price as is and it looks to be around 60% gold 40% quartz as a guess. I would do the test either way at home, just to know, but if the test comes out weird, don't be surprised because it doesn't always work with this type of nugget.
