Ive been revisiting patches with my new unit, and today I visted one of my most recent patches I have not cleaned out yet. I have put quite a bit of time into this location before today, but there are plenty of targets left to dig. The ground is very hot, and my new unit exaggerates the hot spots. That is the price you pay for more power. This slug was down about 16". The initial signal was obvious, and I was not expecting it to be as deep as it was. It was obvious that it was not a hot spot. I am confident the 45 would have found it no problem, but I will never know for sure. I found three other nuggets today in that location, but they look like dust compared to this. 58 grams for the big one. It needs a few weeks in wink. Im guessing about 85+% of the weight is gold. My best nugget by far.

I did have some inspiration from someone who showed me their recent finds, maybe that helped me put in the extra effort to find this hefty nugget.

You cut n polish that last big piece you found.
Gt ..

Are you talking about the big chunks of gold in quartz I found about a year ago? I had one of the pieces polished, but the gold was diminishing, so when I got it back there wasnt as much showing. It looks nice though. Ill eventually get some polishing pads for my angle grinder and do it myself, so I can keep as much gold showing as possible.

I'll admit. I'm jealous.

I've not been nugget shooting much the last 2 years.

A couple guys have been hammering my backyard with new PI detectors.
I can only wonder what is keeping them coming back.

I'm afraid to go up there because I know it will be a field of land mine holes and will piss me off.

Have you soaked that ugly rock yet?
Careful with that Whink stuff...

I havnt touched it. Still dirty and junk on the trunk. Ive been cashing in all my best finds to offset the cost of a much better looking piece of metal that really likes to eat gasoline. So I intend on letting this one go asap.

I havnt been nugget hunting as much as I'd like the last couple years either. I have been dumbfounded by the frequency of good finds recently, I only get out 1-2 times a month on average. I have new permission in an unfamiliar location, but well known for gold. Should be interesting. Now its just finding the time.

Consider your self very lucky, I couldnt get someone to give me permission to even use a divining rod on gold property.
