Bob Z,
When you heading out to Quartzite? If your into rocks, I can direct you to some nice digs. For nugget shooting either east of Quartzite or north near I-40.

BobZ, when are you planning to hit Quartzsite? If you wait until January/February, you won't need to dig for your rocks, you can just buy them from the zillions of vendors already selling them there. :)

I just got back from Qz I hunted the dome rock area and found a few small nuggets under a huge rock in a dry wash. Also found some very small pickers using a gold genie after digging down about a foot and removing dirt. I was on a claim owned by GPAA so be careful you are not on a private claim. That whole area is a gold area so go to where its harder to get to because all the easy places have been done over.

You might be surprised at the gold "still" being found here. Every one thinks the easy acess spots are hunted out. I have found gold in "down town" Quartzite. They bult up the on and off ramps on the freeway a few years back, I got permission from the gravel pit owners to run a detector in the pit and found several 1/4 ounce nuggets north of town. Also check the drain culverts around town and found gold. The under passes for the freeway are good gold collectors. But be carefull as much of the land around town has been claimed by the Indians as "sacred ground" and is off limits and made useless for everything except maybe a future casino.
