    I actually think the second shot is more typical.
    Here in Folsom I can often find little specs of flakes on the quartz
    that looks like that second shot. Often looks as if hot gold wax was
    dripped on the much harder quarts. Trouble is, here you need an powerful
    eye loupe to see it.
