    Laminated Gold Grains

A while back I ran across a post about some gold, a grain or two, laminated, or embedded in plastic, into something like a business card. I can't seem to find this again. Does anyone know where I might find such a thing? I'm just wanting it to test my detector with. Thanks.

GPAA sells them for about $14, but I made my own by laminating one of my own business cards with a piece of gold that was as small as my detector could handle.

    Re: Laminated Gold Grains

    Hi GhostRidr,

That's my post over under the "Metal Detecting" sub-forum entitled White's Goldmaster II "Gold Nugget Card"....it's about a third way down. That card was obtained originally from White's Electronics in Oregon.

I don't see why you couldn't use a small piece of lead just as easily; to match size, you have to shape it ....one quarter inch by one eighth inch....and I think the weight is about a grain or so.

    Hope that helps,

    Jim.
Time, oh good sweet time...where did you go?
