Hard ground? Do you mean HOT ground? I use a GMT and it doesnt care if the ground is hard but it doesnt like mineralized ground (HOT).

Gogo, the higher the Khz, the more interference you can get from hot ground. The only thing that will "cut thru" tough conditions are the PI units, but they are more expensive. What part of the country are you going to be swinging in?

you could look at the scorpion gold stinger.... that has excellent circuitry to deal with hot ground..... i had one for 6 yrs and it fairs very well
