Hey dont feel bad, your haul (bad day) could be considered a good hunt by most......me included. like they say: a bad day of metal detecting is much better than a good day of doing anything else!

I havnt gone metal detecting in over a month thanks to a busted ankle, i would give anything rite now to be able to get out and hunt an old grove of trees and score even a fraction of what you found.
I guess my point is, enjoy your time out in the field regardless of what you find. good hunting

You mean I might be asking for too much when I say I want an untouched 10 acre site used by thousands of people during the 1870's?

Yep, that's about it, the table ware alone should fill a couple buckets if indeed thousands used it for an extended period during that era. There should also be a dumpsite nearby with endless pepper sauce and olive bottles.
