Re: Here's what I found MDing so far (Since June 28th, 2009) PICS INCLUDED

My cash grand total is..... 3,851 Yen, or about $38.51. Not bad for a person that only MDed for about less than 4 hours! 95% of my finds was from the sand at the beach. Thank god there is 500 yen coins in Japan. In the states, the hightest denomination you usually find is a quarter. Am I right?

In the 2nd to the last pic, I found all those coins in the sand at the beach. They're in pretty good condition, considering their age. I'm convinced that there is a cache out there in the sand, because I found most of them in about a 20 foot radius. Now that would be a banner find!

The 50 yen coin that I found was also found in the sand at the beach. It was in pretty bad shape. It had a groove in the 5, and it has a lot of green stuff on it.

In my 2nd picture, at the very bottom, I found those two plastic coins in the sand at the beach. It wasn't because of my MD, but because I just saw them lying on the sand.

The only coin that I didn't find at the beach in the sand is one of the 500 yen coins and one of the 100 yen coins. But it was in the grass, right next to the beach! Also, I found a 100 yen coin just lying on the sand about a week ago.

Well, I hope you guys enjoyed reading my post! HH everyone!

Where in Japan are you? I'm stationed at the Yokosuka Naval Base. I've been thinking about either bringing my detector here from the states or just buying a new one...your post just inspired me a little. I've never seen some of those old ones, did you find those on the beach as well?

I go to school at Zama, but I live really far off base. I live really close to Enoshima, if you know where that is. I might move closer to base though.
I found those old ones on the beach. It was quite a find!

I think that very few people in Japan MD. Type in Metal Detecting in Japan, in the youtube search bar, and acouple vids will come up abou MD in Japan. I was born in Japan, and moved to Hawaii for 9 years, before moving back here. I think that cillosis is just a sailor stationed in Japan. Am I right?

I like those square holed coins. Looks like you're doing well with the Bounty Hunter. Can't wait to see what else you find. I bet there are some nice relics in Japan, too.

Yeah, I think your thinking of Camp Tama, which is pretty far from Zama. I'm not sure though.

    Looks like your doing ok.
Those square holed coins are neat. I've found several at a couple different 1700-1800's house sites in the US.
