Try probing out instead of deeper, I dug about 2 feet down right thru the center of an old metal barrel strap that was only about 4 inches deep. Wasted a couple of hours trying to find my target lol. good luck,

Your decision depends on what type of site your on. For me, I dig until I get to the target which is usally not much more than two feet, and seldom in the range of 3 feet, but if it's deeper I keep going.

went 18" down still said big item.from the display, it shows whatever it is ,is about 2 foot across.i covered it back up loosely, i think i will try to dig it some more on my next days off.
