I don't think that Microwave tech. is something they would use in metal detectors........but like....mrwilburino... said if yor detector could cook your super in the field when you hunt........ I really think that idea is off the wall ......... sounds like some con man trying to sell a bad idea.

Microwaves would have almost no ground penetration, since they are so small.

Each frequency range has its own characteristics, so technology uses that range. It's well known to detector designers.
