Frequency wars?

Has anyone else seen the latest Fisher ads for their detectors? I am sure a lot of forum users have seen the old 1 frequency good, 2 frequency better, multiple frequnecy best ads by Minelab. Now Fisher has an ad showing the "difference" between their "multi-frequency infinite spectrum technology" and the mere multi frquency detectors.

I like both Minelab and Fisher so I am not picking on either. It is interesting though. A few months back a forum user that works in the electronics field was explaining how Minelab may transmit multiple frequencies but how many do the detectors process? Apparently Minelabs patent said three.

I doubt that Fisher has changed their detectors in the last month so it must be in response to sale of "multiple frequency" detectors that prompted the ads.

Any thoughts?
