I just sold my MXT that I had used for over a year and got a Quattro. My first impressions with
the Quattro are that I made a very good move for my uses. Today I went to a site that I just visited
with my MXT and found more coins, deeper, and much less trash with the Quattro. It has a very short
learning curve, which I wanted. I found it to be very well balanced and felt no difference in weight
between it and the MXT. Downside to the Quattro, the batteries are not supposed to last as long
as on the MXT. The MXT has phenominal battery life. Quattro's is advertised as about 1/2 as much.
I'm going to go to WallyWorld and get a recharger now. You might check with Ron at Dixie Metal
Detectors when you go to purchase. He's great to do business with, and very competitive on prices.
Good hunting,
Mike

Hello from Wales:
I have been using a Quattro for about one month and its super value for money.
In my opinion the only real competion is another minelab.
Thats the Explorer two.
BUT only if you can use it and understand what its telling you and if you add one of the specialist
deepseeking programmes then it will beat the Quattro.
But as a switch on and go machine theres not much else to touch it.
I find it to be very well balanced and have used for about 8 hours non stop without fatigue.
The new pinpoint graph system is super and object detected is under the part of coil
that connects to lower shaft assembly.
If using headphones as we all should you may wish to reduce the threshold volume a little.
I search in relic mode which is great for inland and beach as the ferrous response is easy to understand.
As a matter of intrest aluminium cans show as 37 on the meter in the silver range.
Other metal I.D. tends to be quite accurate.
Depth meter is accurate for coin shaped items on irregular shapes can be iffy.
I have noted that the battery life indicator drops to two bars after about 25mins only
no matter which type of batteries you use inc.minelabs high capacity set.
All explorer type connections that once upon a time were dodgy are much more robust
And has superb depth on all types of sites.
To sum up a simple to use switch on and go machine with raw power a plenty.
My other machine is the Elite with Detech 14 1/2" searchead and i think i have a super arsenal
of machines at my disposal.
You will not be dissapointed.
Hope this is of some help.

Regards to all & Seasons Greetings Paul. :)
