New Beginner's Detector for April?

Was reading a TON of reviews for Detectors and have whittled them down to 2 detectors. The unit is for my Wife and Boy to use (not sure how seriously yet) and as a result of my 'not knowing' how much they'll enjoy it, I want to set my budget @ $300 or less.....(I'll be picking up a 'Garrett AT PRO' Kit w/ 4.5" sniper Coil for myself...)

Anyway, regarding the two (2) choices, I've narrowed them down to either the "Fisher F2 Coil kit (10" and 4" coil) and accessories Kit" or the "Teknetiks Delta 4000 w/ accessories Kit (no extra coils)".

Any suggestions?

Cheers,

Hey Joeman,

Welcome to TreasreNet!

I've used my share of detectors and the ones you've named are good units.

One question I would ask is have you looked at the Tesoro Silver UMax?

They are really great little machines, are easy to learn and fit the budget you have set for yourself.

Hope this helps!

That's easy. For your wife and son you say?
2 Tesoro Compadre's will fit right into your budget and they come with Lifetime Warranties. They are turn on and go machines, that have surprising depth and target separation.

Pretty sure she won't be out-hunting me long once she sets it down in a few inches of water... :)
