Ocean Detecting Questions....

So I was trying to metal detect on the ocean last night, and it seemed like since the wind was blowing so hard it was making my detector go off when nothing was around? I tried turning the sensitivity all the way down and seemed like it still did it sometimes.

Any solutions for this or comments?

Type of detector would Help

Check your coil cable connections are they loose.

Is the cable loose around the shaft maybe the wind is moving it around above the coil

Chug is right, need more info, I can say if your coil cable is lose and flopping around you will get false signals......

I have a whites prizm II

I'll have to check the cables and give you an update

If your in the waters edge or even wetsand your go to false, yours is a single freq detector.....

My son just got that same detector And has never had a problem like that except when he sets the sensitivy to high. I don't think the coil wire moving will cause that problem. Frank

The sand of a salt beach is conductive. Sand or salt water blowing by the coil could set off a single frequency detector. The Prizm II will perform better in the dry sand. Even if the sand gets wet or damp from a rain it will gain conductivity properties.
