Anyone in Baton Rouge?

Is there anyone is the Baton Rouge, LA area that would be willing to take me out and show me the ropes? I tried most of the day on Friday, hitting various parks in the area and did not turn up a thing. I was just wondering if there was anyone in the area who could mentor me a bit.
