This entry level detector can find shallow coins and gold rings if you don't disc out pull tabs as pull tabs and gold rings have the same conductivity. The Bounty Hunter line up are not good for finding gold nuggets of average size. When advertisements claim they will find gold, they are talking about gold bars or nuggets as big as a VW, not the average kind. its a very good machine to start out with . use it wisely and itll pay for itself in no time. it finds coins and gold or silver rings very well.
