So my girlfriend wants to get into metal detecting...I had no idea she was interested in the hobby when I was doing it and since then sold my stuff for other reasons. Im getting back into it and most likely gettng a tesoro vaquero, but need to find something for her. She wants to get it herself so I dont want her getting anything too expensive since shes a beginner. Im hoping it can be like a package deal. I was thinking like an Ace 250 would be good for her and I think they do package deals, but she doesnt wanna spend more than like 200. Someone on craigslist was selling one with a bunch of stuff for 175 but lives too far out to get it. Any help is appreciated

Tesoro compadre, I got one for my wife, she loves it light to hold, easy to operate, great price, great on small gold.

Good advice on the Tesoro Compadre.

I have an AT Pro and a Cibola.... my wife prefers the Cibola.

(good backup detector for you as well)

A used Tesoro (I bought my Sidewinder used 12 years ago and it's still going strong.)

Used White's Classic

Ace 250 or 150, though I'd highly recommend getting a pinpointer with these.

I think I might help her out and pay the difference for a Silver umax..I talked to someone and he said the differenc ein price was well worth it...didnt talk bad about the compadre, just said if shes a little more serious about it, that would be the way to go
