That's neat Chuck, are you getting one? I would but when I hit a target, I get so involved digging that I don't pay attention to my detector...& it gets dirty. That's why I don't do videos of my actual hunt. Too busy & don't have enough time to mess with a camera/video recorder

That is the beauty of the mount. It keeps the camera out of the muck (watch the video). I ruined my own camera this weekend by keeping it in my back pocket instead of on the mount!

I think I might... it would give me a different aspect on metal detecting.

Re: I don't know who WOULDN'T want one of theses!

now that I am looking into this more I am thinking something more like this will work better for phone type cameras...

just need to cut a hole out where the lens is... my thinking with a phone camera I'd have to buy a mount for it and then take the case off of it and so on... the link below is waterproof... so it might be better for phone cameras.

K Chuck, here's what I think after seeing some of the videos on this. I don't really like it all that much. It made me dizzy while watching the videos, & we miss out on the dig. I think a head mount to like a ball cap would be a clever idea, that way, you could see the detector doing it's thing without getting dizzy, & you could video the dig part as well.

Some people don't read replies or watch the videos.

Re: I don't know who WOULDN'T want one of theses!

I think it's a great idea, and I have one of these mounts on my Christmas wish list. I certainly wouldn't use it for all of the filming, but it gives a good perspective for some of the shots. It would also turn your detector into a camera mount for filming the dig. It's not like it can ONLY face the coil, just set the detector down next to the target, turn towards the spot and film your dig! Much easier than carrying around a tripod, even a small tripod is a pain to carry during a hunt.

Edit - changed "would" to "wouldn't" use for all filming...

I agree... when making a video with one of these you just cut that part out... because the digging and recovering part is what we all want to see... The main purpose of this mount (IMO) is to have a safe place for your camera to sit and for it to be recording when you make the find... sure out of a dozen recoveries maybe one will be worth recording but its on and recording when you do make that one great find! I always forget to record my finds like that because I am too excited in the recovery process.

@tinpan......if so I might be interested.....lmao

@Jason......Eh, too much of a hassle

@Chuck.......I'm the exact same way Chuck, I get so excited I don't think about getting on video. A couple of times I've even buried my phone in dirt from digging...lol.....so now...I just don't take it
