I really hanen't seen this particular subject covered, and if it has then I'm sorry to bring it up again.

So here goes.

Should the cable running from the searchcoil to the reciever be "wrapped" or "unwrapped" around the shaft going to the reciever box? Is there a difference in how the machine acts when you do either?

What do you recommend, suggest & why please?

trying to figure this out.

thanks

IT MUST BE fastend so it dosn't move when swinging. Most people wrap because of length. I have heard a a few that cut the cable & shorten it rather then rapping it & some even claim Improvements in sensitivity by doing this. However , I wouldn't do it, especially if your units under warranty. . One Question. IF you don't rap it, What are you doing with the slack ?

You don't want the cable flapping around it can I'm told give off false signals. I wrape my six times, I read on one site where they recommemded taping it to the rod above the breakdown point. I've done it both ways but wraping is the easiest for me. HH Bob.B
