Shotgun Shell's, are they old?!

I found a few on a hiking trail at Bicentenial Park, which was just built this past year and is the farmhouse and childhood home of former Cincinnati Reds owner Marge Schott also the home was built in 1835. I found two shell's made by the peter's cartridge corp. and an old u.s climax and a u.s defiance. The 2 peter's have the headstamp with the big P in the middle with no.16 on it and the us.climax is a no.12 and the u.s defiance is also a no.12. I'm not sure but I believe the Peter's are old but I'm not to sure help??

Did they still have plastic hulls on them? Or was it all rotted away leaving just the brass base?

Looks like Peters hasn't been making shotshells for quite some time. Seems they had a bit of an explosive factory issue.

No no hulls but some still have the remains of the cotton in them or the threading or whatever it that stuff is but mainly it's the base.

I looked at that headstamp site and the Peter ones that I have aren't on that site... so that's why I think they are old or maybe even rare but i'm not sure, I tried to upload a picture of them but I think they are to big because they won't load

They may indeed have been rare shells, but as far as ammo collectors go, they prefer intact rounds. A neat piece of history for you though.

See I've seen those pictures but none of them have the one that I have found, like the exact headstamp so that's why I wasn't sure. Thank you!!
