Newbie Needs Help

Hi everyone..I am a newbie in need of some advice. I am thinking of buying my first metal detector. I have been looking around and the Garrett Ace 250 seems to be a popular model or Would I be better off buying a used detector for the same money, which may have more features. I will be using it for coins and jewelery mostly. Lastly, can anyone tell me where to get a good used metal detector.

i just received clevengers catalog from their mailing list. they seem to have good used detectors. good service from what i heard.

I haven't looked in the last week or so, but e-bay usually has a few good deals going on used detectors.

Thanks everyone for your help. I've decided to go with the Ace 250. I keep hearing really good things about it. I just hope i can find one, everyone seems to be sold out...
