Went metal detecting along the banks of the Ohio river today in Cincinnati Ohio, found a lot of stuff I think is good and it all cleaned up pretty great. Thanks for looking I could use your thoughts let me know what ya think. Got some silver from the 40's and 60's. 2 wheaties. A mercury dime. A confederate half dollar. An Indian half dollar as in from India. Some kind of plaque that says tri state butter company I'm thinking early 1900's. A 50 cal buffalo gun cartridge. A pocket knife made in Germany. A gold charm. And something I can't identify.

The first picture that's like a little metal capsule, I can't get it open either and it appears to be brass

Neat looking stuff, nice silver finds. The brass thing looks to be an early womens lipstick from 20s or 30s I've found many at the beach after a northeaster in the winter.:icon_thumleft:

That never crossed my mind, interesting, everything cleaned up great, must've been because the mud was so packed tight or something

I know! It's killen me. I'm afraid to break the capsule in the process tho. It does jingle when I shake it so there's something in there

We had a butter can once that looked like the old big milk cans that you would find on a dairy farm. Five or ten gallons would be my guess. It had a brass trianglar plate that said the same as yours (maybe a differant company though) attached with welds at the top of the can. My guess is this was once attached to one of those cans.

Thanks a lot, the only rust on it is the screw that holds the blade in so it's hard to open. I think it used to have mountains on it but the paint is rubbed off
