there were aerial photos taken as early as late 30's Early 40's of PA

You are lucky to have them back to the 50's in your area. Some areas are late 60's and 70's. Beyond that you probably should look at historicalmapworks.com

I have alot of down time right now, on training in GA for my new job figured it be perfect time to get some research done for when I get back

Call Special Collections in the library of your states largest university. Bet they have, or will know where old aerial photos reside. You may be able to search their collection online.

The site I use starts out at 41 but the pictures are so bad you can't really use them much at all, then they jump to 56 which is alot better photo's so the 56 is pretty much all I use. The camera's wasn't very good at first but they got alot better in the 56 pics, some area's in the 41 pics are unusable for house size places but some area's you can barely make out there was something there but only after finding it in the 56 pics then switching to 41 just to tell the lay of the land around it in 41. HH

That's the site I've been using some of the photos on there dnt date back to far

Must be what is available for your particular area, we have them going back to 1932 out here.
