First mercury dime of the year.
I've bought some land recently that had some old houses on it , and I been clearing the land were they we're and I popped out my first for the year and it's in pretty decent shape for a 1944, thanks for looking,found it with my Golden umax about6" down. AC

Found a token today at the same place, the two holes are drilled, but I've yet unable to ID it, any suggestions, thanks

Looks like an Alabama state tax token. Probably the holes were made to make it into a toy. I don't recall whether it has a name, but you put strings through the holes, then get it started winding the strings by spinning back and forth. Terrible explanation - somebody jump in and describe it better.
