Finding a location to hunt.

I just started the hobby and picked up a Garrett 250 ace. I have tested a few hours on the machine and it is great so far, I still have a long way to go before I get the basics down. My issue is I live in a remote area, not too far from town but far enough away where I am surrounded by fields and woods. The problem with the fields and woods is, they are too overgrown or grassy to detect in them. My question is, where would be a good place here in Kentucky to go hunting at? Welcome from White Plains, New York! If you are looking in local playgrounds or parks, you are looking in the same place as everybody else since 1980. You need to start trying to research places people gathered in the PAST (1870 - 1950). You need to think outside the box, and be prepared to do a little work with your head, not just your machine. Hi, If you find a likely spot in the fields or woods, get out your weedeater and make it detector friendly. You will probably find more than going to where everybody else has hunted.
