I went back to my old Elementary school this morning intending to find lots of clad and buy silver on ebay. That is how I "find" silver since I have never found a silver coin metal detecting. Last weekend I found 32 quarters and 13 dimes in 2 hours and bought a nice barber quarter. I hoped to have as much luck today. I wasn't finding much and decided to hit the path to the neighboring high school. I passed an old picnic ground that I have searched before finding only trash. I had the Ace 250 set to just dimes, qtrs, halves, dollar. Just lookin for clad! I get a 50 cent signal and think "Oh boy! another $.50 spill! I have found a lot of 2 quarter holes (lunch money). I dig deep and find what I still cannot believe. Never thought I would have a find like this. 15 silver quarters (1939, 1940, 2x1941, 3x1942, 1943, 3x1944, 1945, 3x1946) and 1 wheat cent (1939) in the same hole!

HH to all!!

To: "Too Rude 89" : Wonderful cache! Big congrats! And I love the asymetrical silver ring you found.

To: "The EE" : If you try that lake where the mud's recently exposed, I'll bet you'll find good stuff. As for that good signal in your frozen backyard, my curiosity would get the best of me so I'd probably pour big pans of boiling water into that dirt to soften it rather than wait for spring, lol. I live in mild climate so haven't needed boiling water, please don't sue me if it doesn't work.

Happy Hunts to you both! Andi

I guess some mother was giving her child a "where does all your lunch money go" talk back in the 40's. Or the school bully tripped.
