I went back to my old Elementary school this morning intending to find lots of clad and buy silver on ebay. That is how I "find" silver since I have never found a silver coin metal detecting. Last weekend I found 32 quarters and 13 dimes in 2 hours and bought a nice barber quarter. I hoped to have as much luck today. I wasn't finding much and decided to hit the path to the neighboring high school. I passed an old picnic ground that I have searched before finding only trash. I had the Ace 250 set to just dimes, qtrs, halves, dollar. Just lookin for clad! I get a 50 cent signal and think "Oh boy! another $.50 spill! I have found a lot of 2 quarter holes (lunch money). I dig deep and find what I still cannot believe. Never thought I would have a find like this. 15 silver quarters (1939, 1940, 2x1941, 3x1942, 1943, 3x1944, 1945, 3x1946) and 1 wheat cent (1939) in the same hole!

HH to all!!

I loved it. Spent about 30 minutes on the hole. Savored the moment.

HOLY COW!! Sweet find there.. I bet the machine was singing a sweet tune with those under the coil.. I doubt that was a spill... Probably a small cash buried by a child..

Great batch of silver! Beats the heck out of digging several hundred clad to buy those silver quarters!

HH to all!!

I just picked up a Garrett ACE 250 and I was searching my backyard. I got a nice strong hit signaling half dollar and dollar at 6-8 inches deep. Sadly the ground is too cold from the several night of freezing temps that I will have to wait until next year to dig and see what it just might be. I might hit some of the beaches nearby for the lake I live near and see if I can find anything at those. They are not exactly sandy so it might be pointless but the lake is down 2 feet from the drought so maybe I could uncover something nice.
