You will love it! I used mine for about a year and then "moved up" to a Lobo Super Traq. My daughter uses the Compadre and finds as much or more than me when we go out. I found 2 gold rings and a few sterling rings, 2 cut Spanish 2 reales and lots of clad with it. Anna found 7 sterling rings in 10 trips to one site we hunt. Set your discrimination just above iron and dig everything. Good Luck, steve

Congrats on the Compadre! I really doubt there is a better performing detector for the price. In fact there isn't even much competition at all in the price range. It hits nice on small gold jewelry! I have a Vaquero as well, and I use the Compadre almost as much as it. HH
