That had to make you feel good. I am trying to track down the owner of a 1925 class ring.. She wuld be in her mid 90s now. I am suspecting I will have to find her family. On with the hunt.

Once I found a wedding band with a 1938 wedding date in it, and the names 'Rose & Jim'. I was happy to find the ring (14k gold, very old-fashioned ornate design) but was sad to think someone lost it. If these people are still alive and married, they will have been married over 60 years! I would love to return this, but doing the research to find them could take many years, even if the couple is local. I heard later that the area I found had been the site of a small boat wrecked on the beach in a storm in the 1960's; it might have been lost then. Might have been a couple on vacation from anywhere in the U.S.

The very first gold ring I ever found was returned by me to it's owner who hadn't seen the ring since around 1970. I found it on a beach that had it's overburden removed by winter storms. It was in perfect condition even 30 years later! I contacted the school where the person was from and talked with the registrar of the school. She tracked this person down to somewhere in the midwest. She was very greatful to get her ring back after not seeing it for 30 years or so. I was bummed to lose the first gold I had ever found, but very happy that I could return something with a little bit of sentimental value to it's original owner.
