Need some advice

Looking to get my first metal detector this spring. Im thinking a Garrett Ace 250. Not sure about it though. Im into silver and coin roll hunting. Is there any books out there anyone would recommend? Any advice on my first detector or any books to read would be great!! Thank you to all that answer!!!

I just bought the ACE 250 recently It has good reviews and seems to be a good MD but I'm a rookie so I'm not the best person to give advice. You might also consider the Fisher F2 that is in the same price range. If I had researched it I may have bought it instead of the ACE 250 but I still don't think I made a bad choice.

There is a great book called "Don't Overthink This!," by Justree D'Manual.

Seriously, just get the best machine you can afford, read the manual several times, do the air tests, locate areas like these near you and start swinging. You'll learn more in two-hours than a book will ever teach you. Good Luck!

Metal detecting in beach is really a good idea. Beaches and other swimming areas are places where jewelries tend to be lost by the owner. You might find it when metal detect in such a place. The best metal beach detectors are:

- Cobra Metal Detector
- Tesoro Tiger Shark
- Garrett Metal Detector

No this is incorrect. These detectors will not work on wet salty sand. They are fine for the dry beach but not wet beach. They are single frequency and will just not work on wetsand. the best beach detectors are the excal ii and fisher cz21. They are water proof and multifrequency.
