It is more about location than machine. That is a beginner detector, but if you give yourself a chance by doing some homework and finding a good spot you'll find the good stuff for sure. I had the 250 as my first machine and had it for about a year and 1/2. Just got the AT Pro. Keep the sensitivity at factory setting. If you want to cut out trash altogether, discriminate to just dime, quarter, half, dollar. You won't find any exciting relics but you will clean up on dimes and quarters and still catch silver rings etc. Good luck, I hope you post results!

I just got the same setup for Christmas and the best advice I can give you is take it out and experiment with it.. I thought when I got mine that a beep meant treasure.. But it does'nt tones tell you alot.. I recomend watching the dvd and just messing around with it in the yard until you get the hang of it.. Best of luck...

Thanks toorude89, super excited about the hobby. Found a lot of clad, nothing too exciting but ultra-addicting.
